Mercredi, 6 octobre

Quelle vie !

Today, we wait... we wait for the piece of paper that will let us leave Honduras with our son, in order to get back home with all our other children ! Martha, the lawer that works for TDH to help us, is working hard to get the new birth certificate for Josué that indicates Israël and I as parents. If everything works as she says, we should get that paper in a «record» time ! Usually, it takes 3 weeks to get the new birth certificate. But in our case, because there are medical specialists in Quebec that are waiting to see Josué, the people in charge agreed ot make an exception and do the paper work faster... much faster ! Today, we wait, and if everything goes as Martha thinks, we should have the new birth certificate tomorrow morning. Then, we will be able to leave for Guatemala to go to the canadian ambassy get a canadian visa... but that's another story ! We'll see when we get there !

Spending a day waiting is kind of boring... We feel as though we were trapped in a political system which we cannot understand... But suddenly... what is that noise ?!? is it coming from the street ? so we get out on our 12th story balcony to see people walking in the street, holding signs... and, right in front of our hotel, the slodiers of the hondurien army are installing a blocade ! The «casa presidential» is the first neighbor of the Marriott hotel, so the gards have to stop the people before they get there ! someone tells us that it happens every day here in Honduras : every day, somewhere in the city of Tegucigalpa, someone goes on strike for something, for any reason ! There are many soldiers with guns, and a few vehicules in the back. It lasts for a few hours, but everyone stays calm, which is a VERY good thing ! And then, it's time for lunch : let's all go to McDonalds ! what a life !
